Our Word of the Week this week is “reading.” During announcements this morning I reminded children that Wednesday night is Placentino Family Reading Night. Family Reading Night is one more way that we strengthen the home/school connection at Placentino. The cafeteria is filled with families sitting together on blankets, children wear their pajamas and bring their favorite books, many families bring a nut-free snack, Peppy the Penguin visits, “guest” readers read stories and everyone has a great time! Family Reading Night starts at 6:30 and ends at 7:30. It is one full hour packed with reading fun for all! Hope to see you there!
Also, next Thursday night, April 11th, is the Open House for our Grade Two classes (please note that this does not include our Montessori 6-8 classes.) This is an opportunity for our Grade Two students to invite their parents/guardians into their classrooms to showcase their second grade year at Placentino. Please note that the evening is designed for parents/guardians only. Thank-you so much. The teachers, Mrs. Stewart and I will look forward to seeing you on April 11th!.
Our March Mail total is over $350! Thank-you so much for supporting our annual March Mail initiative.
Have a wonderful week!
