Here comes March Mail! We launched our annual March Mail program with an all-school assembly last Friday afternoon. The Second Grade students took “The March Mail Pledge,” we reviewed the map of Placentino School and I read the children a story. This is one of the Placentino traditions that our children look forward to participating in when they become second graders. Through the sale of March Mail stamps, we’ve been able to link this terrific writing initiative to our support for our friends at the Holliston Food Pantry. I’m proud to say that over the years Placentino students have donated hundreds of dollars to the Food Pantry as a result of the terrific letter writing they’ve done during March Mail! Stamps can be purchased in the Office or classrooms and stationery is printable from the March Mail link that is on the Placentino homepage.
Don’t forget ScienceFest will be in the Placentino/Miller Cafeteria this Saturday from 10-2. Lots of family fun for all!
Looking ahead……..next week will be a very busy week at Placentino. The HEPTSA BookFair will be in our Placentino Library on Tuesday and Wednesday (March 12 and 13) from 3:30-8:00. Math Night will be on Wednesday night (March 13) starting at 6:30 in the Placentino/Miller cafeteria. While all of this is going on, the HEPTSA Baskets will be on display in Room #4 at Placentino on Tuesday and Wednesday from 3:30-8:00! The raffle for the Baskets is a HUGE fundraiser for our elementary schools. If you are here for the BookFair or for Math Night, please make sure you stop by and see the amazing Basket creations from the classrooms at Placentino and Miller.
Also, a reminder that Friday, March 15, will be a Professional Development Day for Holliston teachers and a No School Day for all students. Thank-you.
Have a great week!
