Welcome back! I hope that all of our Placentino families had a fun February vacation time!
Our “Word of the Week” this week is “polite.” During Monday Morning announcements I reminded the children that at Placentino we try hard to remember to use polite words such as “please” and “thank-you” wherever we are in our school – in the classrooms, hallways, cafeteria, buses. I told them that using polite words shows that we are a school that CAREs and is respectful.
March Mail is coming! Our Grade Two students have been waiting for this special opportunity to participate in our annual March Mail event. March Mail is linked to the writing that our students are doing in their classrooms. There will be more information coming to you on Backpack Express and through teacher web-pages. We’ll be launching March Mail with an all-school assembly on Friday afternoon. Our second grade students will recite the March Mail pledge, we’ll review the street-map of our school and we’ll remind all the children that the money we collect from the sale of March Mail stamps will be donated to our friends at the Holliston Food Pantry!
Mark your calendars for these exciting up-coming events:
Saturday, March 9, ScienceFest in the Placentino/Miller Cafeteria
Tuesday and Wednesday, March 12 and 13, Spring Book Fair at Placentino
Tuesday, March 13, Placentino/Miller Math Night
(*Stay tuned for more information regarding the HEPTSA Baskets!)
**Also, a reminder that Friday, March 15, is a Professional Development Day for Holliston Schools Staff. It is a No School Day for all Holliston students.
Have a great week!
