This Week at Placentino: January 22 – 25

Our “Word of the Week” this week has been respect.  During announcements I shared with the children that Monday was a No School Day in observance of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day and that Dr. King’s message was that “We shouldn’t care about what a person looks like on the outside.  We should care about who a person is on the inside.”  This message certainly supports our CARE program at Placentino and the Open Circle program and language that has become an important part of how we communicate with each other at our school.

Because of the cold weather, our students had Inside Recess today.  Typically we go out whenever we can, but the intense cold kept us in.

A reminder that Thursday and Friday are PreK and K Parent Conference Days.  There is NO SCHOOL for our PreK and K children on these two days. Please remember that because the K students will not be on the buses your child’s pick-up and drop-off times might be slightly different on these two days. Thank-you!

Also, Monday, January 28th, is K “Switchover Day” for our 1/2 day Kindergarten students – both traditional and French Immersion.

Our Informational Open House Evening (Parent/Guardians Only) for in-coming Kindergarten age children will be held on Tuesday evening, February 5th with a snowdate of February 6th.  Children must be residents of Holliston and be five years old on or before September 1, 2013.

Stay warm!
