It has been a very busy week at Placentino!
Our Holliston Food Pantry “Thankful Turkey Feathers” project was a HUGE success! The donations from our students created mountains of food and paper products underneath our fully “feathered” turkey. I am so proud of our children and so thankful to all of our Placentino families for so generously extending their hands in friendship to our neighbors at the Holliston Food Pantry. The kindness and generosity you’ve shown is sincerely appreciated.
All of our First Grade students participated in a walking field trip to the new Holliston Police Station this week. Parent chaperones and teachers led the way, using every opportunity to remind children of the safety rules that they need to follow when crossing the street. The children were greeted by our friend, School Safety Officer, Dave Gatchell, who provided the students with a tour of the new station! It was a great trip and a wonderful addition to our community helpers’ Social Studies curriculum.
Check out the Grade Two Wiki that has been created by our Grade Two teachers! There’s a terrific “Native American Link” from the site. Take a look!
Thank you to HEPTSA for launching our fall fundraiser, and thank you to all of our parents, friends and community members for you participation! $28,500 worth of goods were ordered. Our schools receive back approximately 50% of that total! This money gets recycled into appropriations and requests from our teachers for curriculum and classroom use. Thanks so much for your participation!
Thanksgiving wishes to all!
