Welcome to my new Placentino Blog! I’m hoping that this method of communication will help keep all of our families up-to-date and connected with the great things that are happening at our school! I’ll be editing this Blog often and using it as an additional reminder for up-coming events and activities. For example, November is “Family Literacy Month.” We held our first Placentino Family Reading Night of the year on November 2nd. The cafeteria was filled with families listening to our guest readers, reading together, and enjoying a visit from our Placentino Penguin, “Peppy.” Reading with your child each day is a wonderful way to spend time together and reinforce the importance and enjoyment that reading can bring! Our Placentino Librarian, Mrs. Ellen Ahern, has a Library link on the Home Page of this Blog. Click onto the link for some terrific ideas for family literacy fun throughout the month of November. Also, please click onto the School Nurse link for some important information for parents from our School Nurse, Mrs. DeBruyn.
I’ve asked our Room Parents to use their class lists to distribute a letter to all our families describing the school wide “Thankful” project that we’ve organized to boost donations for our friends at the Holliston Food Pantry. Thank you for supporting this community project!
